I would like to congratulate you Steve on a Kitch little operation where not only is the coffee and the smoothies great but the service is OUTSTANDING... As a fellow business owner I now know we live In a world where the customer is NOT always right and it takes courage to point our to rude, obnoxious, self absorbed people that their such attitude is not always welcome (even when they have money to pay for the coffee they are complaining about)..

I dont ever get a smoothie from anywhere else and quiet often drive across the city for your amazing toasted paninis

Hi Brett, If you would like to check the page you actually commented on, “everything but the cafe”, you will see that I did publish it as soon as it came through. I replied and hoped it would not end in an unpleasant way. You seem to take this very personally, I did not mean to cause you such distress. I’m sure I was not commenting on you.

Brett, if you don't like what you get at Detour there are a million other coffee shops in the broader Sydney CBD so take your business elsewhere. Having worked full-time since 1992, and being dependent on coffee since my teens, I've had more 'regular' coffee places than many (in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle) and Detour is in the upper percentile band. What I like most is the consistency ... of the product but also of the familiar, freindly reception. In 2010 personal service is the exeception to the rule. Plently of businesses talk about it and aspire to it but few actually achieve it. Detour does it and does it well. I worked in advertising for years so I know smarmy. The team at Detour do not engage in theatrics. It's genuine, friendly service. And it works, because it's unique.
